Very fashionable (Arthouse Sketchbook Project)

Thank you to everyone who came up with some great ideas for my sketchbook, it gave me that extra little push to complete it.  Martine sent me some ideas for shop window dummies, something I had been pondering for a while.  So these are the first ones I did in slightly muted tones (the sort of colours I often end up buying).  But what is really needed is a bit of full on colour...sooooo

I thought these wigs would be just the thing and less than 30 euros!

How many pages left now before you send your sketchbook ? (I'll send mine next week.)

You really did a fantastic job on these! The colors, textures and shadows are perfect. there's this smooth, classy and cold/inhuman feeling that goes with shop window dummies - very elegant drawings!

I must say though, I sometimes am freaked out by mannequins. But these that you drew... you did a wonderful job bringing out their functions and purposes =)
They are in a way... fashionably cheerful ^^

My family had a dry goods store, with a grocery store in back, when I was growing up. I spent many hours, at all ages, trying on all the new hats and clothes and looking in the 3-way mirror. And also decorating the big show windows, with one full size mannequin and several heads, etc. A potter has his studio and gallery in the store, now, and he still uses the old cash register, shelves, mirror, etc. It's like going home when I get to visit there. Your sketches reminded me of a place where I have spent so much time in my life.
